For as long as I can remember I have always had two passions - photography and aviation.
Like most children I would often borrow my parents compact camera for airshows, school trips and holidays etc. For my 14th birthday my dad bought me my first 35mm SLR camera and several lenses. That second hand camera was a good starting point and great for experimenting with. With the passing of time I became more proficient with photography I was able to upgrade the lenses and camera bodies until I was using professional equipment.
After finishing College in 1999 my first full-time job was working as a lab assistant at an independent mini-lab in Essex. By the age of 21 I was working as the manager of a Kodak Express franchise between shops in Braintree, Halstead, Chelmsford and RAF Lakenheath.
During 2004 I took a break from photo processing as I wanted more free time to spend taking photos. In addition I took a job working on the ramp at Stansted Airport in order to gain better knowledge of civil aviation. After 12 months at the airport I left to further my career in photography and graphic design/digital art.
Combining my love of aviation and photography, during the mid to late 2000's, I ran a trade stand at Duxford during airshow weekends at the museum, selling my own photos to the public, enthusiasts and pilots/aircrew . From this I made many contacts and have since worked as a freelance photographer and designer for some of the UK's premier aviation groups and organisations. My previous and current clients include the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, The Lincolnshire Lancaster Association, the 'Sally B' - B-17 Preservation Ltd. and the Lightning Preservation Group.
My photography has also appeared in some of the UK's best selling Aviation magazines such as Air Forces Monthly, Aircraft Illustrated and FlyPast. Some of my favourite published images used are displayed in the 'Published Work' gallery (below).
For the past few years I have been working with a memorabilia company as a graphic designer and digital artist. I have been lucky enough to meet some of the most famous names from the worlds of sport, aviation/space, film and television.
I have created commissioned digital art for various sporting personalities, astronauts and actors. Some of these images are displayed in the 'commissioned work' gallery (below).
If you are a pilot, aircrew or an owner/operator of an aircraft and would like pictures taking of it, or a commisioned artwork image, I am more than happy to offer my services to help you get a unique image of your aircraft whether you are looking for basic photographic shots or a full air-to-air shoot.
